Commemorate the end of Land Rover Defender production with this high-quality print combining six of my original hand-drawn illustrations.
Without a doubt, The Land Rover is one of automotive history's stalwarts. A truly classless vehicle, it will forever be remembered for feats of strength and endurance the envy of any other vehicle. The Land Rover enjoys a special and unique place in the hearts and minds of loyal owners and enthusiasts the world over. It was in production for 68 years during which just over two million examples were built, and it is a widely believed legend that over 60% percent of all Land Rovers ever built are still running.
Nothing gets in the way of a Land Rover, and while its popularity peaked in the 1960s and 1970s, it began to face stiff opposition later in life, especially from Japanese rivals such as the Toyota LandCruiser. The Land Rover's ineffable spirit prevailed however, and it is this spirit which will ensure the Land Rover lives on in the annals of history.
As the saying goes: "All good things must come to an end", and production finally ceased at Solihull on Friday the 29th of January, 2016.
